New Year, New Career: Joining our Team at CertaSite

New year, new career with CertaSite

At the start of a new year, it can signify new beginnings to many — new habits, new goals, or even a new job.

At CertaSite, we’re proud to employ a passionate team of professionals who have dedicated their lives to keeping others safe through fire and life safety protection. And at the heart of everything we do, you’ll find our technicians.

If you’re looking for a career shift, becoming a technician with us could be a great fit. Below, dive into five reasons you’ll love this new-to-you career path.

Work You Can Feel Good About

At a lot of jobs, it can be hard to see the impact you’re making. When you’re a fire and life safety technician, the impact is obvious: You’re protecting people and property from real threats. With every inspection, you’re delivering peace of mind to people across all industries, from hospitals and schools to businesses and factories. Your work with the customers makes the difference between disaster and protection. At the end of the day, you can go home knowing you made a real difference in the lives of the people you met with - and that’s a job you can feel good about.

Ongoing Education

At CertaSite, we don’t just believe in investing in our customers; we invest in our employees and help them build long-term careers in this industry. One way we do this is by offering many ongoing educational opportunities. We even offer start-up training for people with no previous experience in this industry, or those who are just starting out.

We offer:

  • Hands-on training led by experienced professionals
  • Support for NICET and other certifications
  • Clear technician level pathways (I, II, III, and beyond)
  • Leadership development for those who want to manage teams

When you work with our team, you’re not just getting a job; you’re gaining a career trajectory.

Opportunities for Advancement

If you want a career that grows with you, fire and life safety can be a great fit. With additional certifications, you can move up to different technician levels within your field, or even become a manager or leader of a team.

At CertaSite, we support this journey through LevelUP, our structured career development program. LevelUP offers continuous education, mentorship, leadership development, and real-world technical training — all designed to create clear advancement paths for our team members. It’s one of the many ways we invest in our people and help them build meaningful careers in fire and life safety.

Competitive Pay and Benefits

As far as salary goes, it can fluctuate for technicians, but most earn approximately $26 per hour on average, totaling roughly $76,000 annually. This number can increase as you gain more skills or certifications, or specialize in different areas of fire and life safety.

We also offer generous PTO, paid parental leave, 401k match, and full benefits for our employees. Plus, some technicians may qualify for additional sign-on bonuses upon accepting a position with us.

The CertaSite Difference

Sure, we’re a fire and life safety company serving clients and keeping them safe — but we also strive to create a safety-first culture where you’re treated with respect. We know that our business doesn’t exist without our technicians; they’re the backbone of everything we do. We value your time, knowledge and effort, and we value clear communication with all of our employees. We’ll keep you up-to-date on all the latest technology and information, and we’ll support your career journey every step of the way.
