Saluting Our Veterans

Tomorrow is Veterans Day, and as such, CertaSite would like to take time to remember the individuals who have protected our rights and freedoms, sacrificing their time and in some cases their lives serving the United States.

History of Veterans Day

Veterans Day is celebrated every year on Nov. 11 to commemorate the end of World War 1 on Nov. 11, 1918. In 1926, Congress passed a resolution for an annual observance of the day, and it became a national holiday in 1938. In 1954, after World War II required the largest mobilization of servicemen and American troops battled in the Korean War, Armistice Day became Veterans Day at the urging of several Veterans organizations. First designated Armistice Day, Veterans Day

Show Your Appreciation

There are several things you can do to honor veterans not only today, but year-round.

CertaSite and Veterans

IMG_8367For several years, CertaSite has been a proud supporter of the Disabled Veteran’s Freedom Hunt at Fort Custer Training Center. The Disabled Veteran’s Freedom Hunt brings together disabled veterans for a few days of deer hunts, homemade meals, and time spent sharing stories and reminiscing together. CertaSite is proud and honored to be able to support this amazing event each year.

Veterans are all around us. Many go on to other careers after their time in the military. At CertaSite, many of our employees are veterans, and we are honored to work with them side-by-side. Let’s recognize some of our veterans here at CertaSite.

Jeff Wyatt, CEO

Jeff is a veteran of the United States Navy, serving our country as an interior communications electrician. Jeff served on the USS John Marshall SSN 611 submarine from 1986 to 1989 and received the sea service award, good conduct medal and received a letter of commendation during one of the deployments to the Mediterranean Sea. Jeff was promoted to Petty Officer 2nd Class prior to his honorable discharge.
